Is the Wacaco® Minipresso NS right for me?
The Wacaco® Minipresso NS is just right for… everyone! If you often travel and like to enjoy a good espresso at any time, the Minipresso is perfect for you. Do you enjoy hiking, fishing, biking or camping? You won't find a better option than the Wacaco® Minipresso NS to enjoy quality espresso away from home.
How good is the coffee extraction?
Just amazing! The retrievability of the Wacaco® Minipresso NS will not disappoint. 116 psi is exactly the pressure produced by traditional piston espresso machines. Why should we change a characteristic that has been set since 1945? Most importantly, we paid close attention to the extraction process. The Wacaco® Minipresso NS does NOT use a compressed air or N2O cartridge, as these two principles blow cold air over hot water, which is not the best way to keep the water at the recommended temperature for perfect extraction.
Instead, the Minipresso uses the proven system of a pump-driven espresso machine that we've adapted to make the process manual. We also focused on minimizing the distance between the water tank and the coffee chamber to avoid losing too many degrees during water displacement. As a result of our efforts to create the perfect device, the Minipresso produces at ambient (75°F, 24°C), espresso at the perfect temperature (152°F, 67°C in the cup) with a nice and persistent crema on top.
Does pumping require a lot of force?
Not exactly! The whole process is much easier and faster than inflating a bicycle tire with a hand pump. Depending on the coffee (ground or capsule), the required compression force can vary from 6 to 12 Kg. However, we recommend holding the Minipresso with both hands during use. This method requires less hand strength.
Does the Minipresso heat the water?No! To drink hot espresso, you will need to fill the water tank with hot water. If you don't have a water heating source, you might want to check out our purpose-built Wacaco Nanovessel Thermos.
Does the Minipresso need maintenance?
The machine requires minimal maintenance. This will ensure a long life for your Minipresso. We recommend cleaning the cup compartments and coffee adapter under running water after each use. The water tank should only be dried with a towel. We do NOT recommend placing the Minipresso in the dishwasher.
